Bi annual visit

My goodness, it's November the last time I flew in here. What a lot has gone on... and since we are on the funny Friday between a public holiday (Women's Day) and the weekend, there's a skeleton staff and I'm holding the fort.

Well, in March, Benson and Hedges caught up with me and they took out half a lung. Forget Zyban - having your chest cracked ( Read more... )

Good to see you Don! It appears as if life has been a bit *too* interesting recently.

Good god man, all that on only one and a half lungs?

Makes a person feel positively inadequate.

Seriously though, good to see your ascii, and hope things continue to get better from here.

"'Half-a-lung, half-a-lung, half-a-lung onward'," remarks Pernicious the Musquodoboit Harbour Farm Cat, over the protestations of his faithful amanuensis and general factotum. "Oh do lighten up, Barnstead," Pernicious the Musquodoboit Harbour Farm Cat continues, "At least DonPaul no longer lights up -- and it wasn't his dancing feet that were excised..." he concludes, looking about for his North Carolina Prosthetic Dancing Legs (tm), in preparation for batting his eyes at Don and (since it must be Sadie Hawkins Day in one of the Multiverses somewhere) asking him for the next tango...

Isn't it sometime in the wee, dark hours over there? I mean, it's lunchtime here and the PGA golf only comes on the telly in around 10 hours time - not that I follow it much these days.

While I expect Bill to be tracking stars (best done at night)I rather thought my academic friends (and their cats) might be sleeping at this time.

One of the great joys of modern surgery is that it is possible to rise to the occasion fairly swiftly after carving, so the horizontal tango was ever so reaffirming of one's life state (I also suspect that something in the happy gas had aphrodisiacial - things that make you horny).

Ahh yes, dancing, misbehavin'... we all want a box of chocolates and a long stemmed rose.

But bowing... now that's another cup of tea - getting old is not for sissies!

Dearest Don -- Please do remember that you have a date for summer 2012 -- now just five short years away -- when the HaliCallahanicon is scheduled. We plan a Real Nice Clambake out in Musquodoboit Harbour on Martinique Beach, and a Masked Ball at the University Club where we'll dance a night away -- downstairs will be done over to as close to Mike Callahan's Place as may be, with riddle board and various other amenities... We also have a Subsidy Fund for those living outside of North America -- and we have a Prince Edward Island here, too -- in case you get homesick for the one located 1,900 km. southeast of you... I don't suppose yours has an Anne of Green Gables on it, though -- more likely Anatole of Penguin County...

Sigh....Well at least her name is Laura. I'll just continue to pine away from a distance.

:)

Nice to hear from you! Sorry to hear about the surgery, but am pleased for you about the business. It's good to be the king, eh?

Good to see that you're still doing well, despite the lung surgery.
