Any of you creative peeps out there I was wondering if any of you could help me pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease. For the animated icons, I recommend this tutorial - http://lidi.livejournal.com/124801.html#cutid1

She links to a program that is pretty good for grabbing the frames needed for making the animated icons.

Thanks. Could take me a while to get the hang of things there. I did give up at one point and resorted to Gimp. I couldn't find how to grab frames so I resorted to Animation Shop, but the gifs I created are still huge.

The program lidi gives us is pretty easy to use, just remembering to only capture every third frame and not all of them is a big help.

What version of photoshop are you using? I use photoshop 7, don't know many tricks, but I try playing around when I can.

Gif shrinking becomes a matter of how many colours you choose to allow, which can sadly rather lower the quality of the gif

I've been having a play around and still can't get it to work with Photoshop (I'm also using PS7). However on a plus side I found a clip converter, which I can save downloaded clips as mpg files. I can then open those in that programme she gave there and edit the clips down to smaller sizes and save those as ordinary avi files. I then am able to open those in Animation shop and have been creating simple gifs that way. Only problem is that I sometimes have to open every 7 or 9 frames with some of them so that I can make the gifs small enough.
