Here's a little draft for the statement I need to email someone at Uni.

I have applied for the Film and Media course with the hope that it will open more doors for me such as in the Media industry. I attended the recent Uni open day and talk about the course and the course sounds like fun and one I would enjoy taking.

Any help appreciated thanks :).

Yes it's a rant as in I can't be bothered this year. I mean why should I send out Christmas cards to people who can't even speak to me or acknowledge me throughout the rest of the year?
