While a bunch of my friends went to Vegas this past weekend I decided to stay and work at the shoe store, but more importantly, play in the season opener for the softball team. We started off well. Wow, I have not logged on in months. Life is going slowly, but the off time is probably good for me. A few days of subbing mixed in with selling running shoes has given me enough money to go and move out to Berkeley with a couple of friends in about a month. I have been using my GPS unit for a week or so and it has proved to be exceptionally useful, that is, when it is still on. There must be something about the topography of Daly City that makes it hard for the satellite signals to reach the watch or something. On every run the watch will shut off, most likely due to the lack of signal strength. ( Read more... )

Track season has begun and I am now the distance AND pole vault coach, which will prove to be quite the challenge. I feel bad about having to leave the hurdler core to fend for themselves, but given the loss of two coaches for the season, it was a necessary decision.
