Off to visit my mom for a couple days. She's at the hospital until about 2. They're taking taking the tube out of Perry's throat today in an effort to try and bring him out of his coma. I'm afraid my mother has a false sense of hope because she sounded too "up" yesterday. But who am I to say that. Also, I'm suspicious that doctors may be

You're driving all the way to another state for one night just to be with your mom - there is nothing to feel guilty about there. That is a huge thing and I am sure it will mean a great deal to your mom. Especially since today is the day they are taking out the tube. This is a big day and it's good that you will be there for it.

Hang in there. Drive safely (and friendly, you'll be in Sparks after all).

thanks man. I ran it by my mom about feeling guilty, and she said basically the same thing. I think on a certain level this experience has been kind of character building for me. Dang it - I missed Sparks! Next week - lemme know if you guys want me to lay a bet down..

I hope everything turns out alright for you, your mom and for Perry. I only met your mom once when we first moved into that place on First Street together back in '87, but she seemed like a very nice person...my neighbor, Carol's older brother died a couple of days ago....so, I'll be saying some prayers for your family that they don't have to go through that as well...I'm sure your mom will appreciate you coming out to visit her....good luck, Rob, and drive safely.....it's been raining down here recently, so I'm not sure if there will be snow in Reno or not....give me a call if I can help in any way.....john
