My computer started behaving strangely last week, making me very worried. :(
It seemed to settle down on Saturday, giving me a chance to update the OS and make sure I had a good backup. :)
It collapsed entirely on Sunday. :(
Turns out the logic board has died, but this is a
known problem with this model/year and is covered under a free repair

Nutella sounds like a great plan. Also, may I suggest high doses of Mads Mikkelsen? *g*
(I've just started trying to rewatch Hannibal. Actually it's less difficult on the gore side than I remembered. It's episode 2 and the mushrooms that really squicked me the first time round - I have this *thing* about parasitic infiltration *shudders* Also, I remember now that when I first watched it [this was back when only S1 existed] I thought that Will was going to be saved by the Power of Het Love via Alana and the whole concept go south. Which of course is not quite the arc as far as I can tell *g* Gosh Hannibal likes Will and would like him to come play with him and hold his hand and be his friend... it's sort of awful and sweet at once *g*)

Oh DEFINITELY. Always good for what ails me! The man is medicinal.
Lars Brygmann as well...once the computer is back from the hospital, I have a screencap on there from his latest TV show ("Dicte") that I believe you will like to see.
Actually it's less difficult on the gore side than I remembered.I've heard some other folks say that too just recently...maybe it's partially being better able to calibrate expectations re: the show's approach, to understand what it's likely to do, so it's not as much of a rude shock. And a lot of the grue of the show is--how can I phrase it--aftergrue? Like, seeing the elaborate aftermath of something, dead bodies etc., rather than undergoing the actual grueing process. ( ( ... )

Yeah, the thing with the ick in Hannibal is that... it's not horror? Not what I'd call horror, not 'OH GOD THEY"RE IN THE HOUSE NOW' or like the ending of Psycho. I still think they could dial back the visuals a little and it might have got them more viewers, but in terms of 'level of disturbed' I was actually watching an episode of 'I Claudius' (BBC, 1970s, no budget for anything ick onscreen so all implied/described/hinted at) which was easily ten times more upsetting than anything I'd seen on Hannibal. I think with me, the mushrooms thing just really, really played to my squicks.
I'm really glad the dogs make it *g*
I just saw 1x07 'Sorbet'.... IT IS ACTUALLY A LOVE STORY, ISN'T IT? OH GOD. IT IS ACTUALLY OPERA. Hannibal opening the door to look for Will and then him... not being there and his *face* and... gah, feelings (AND HANNIBAL HAS FEELINGS AND IT IS WEIRD AND HE DOESN'T LIKE IT BUT WILL MAKES HIM HAPPY AND HE IS CONFUSED NOW)

Lars Brygmann is the secondary lead, and he plays a cop, John Wagner. He and Dicte often butt heads, as you would imagine, since she is never afraid of nosing around and investigating stuff to report on.
Wagner is tightly-wound, good at his job, and very lonely. At first he seems like kind of a pill, but over time you learn more about him and now I'm totally like Awwwww Wagner. ♥
I find it very enjoyable. Season 1 is on US Netflix streaming; season 2 isn't there yet, but is on Dailymotion in its entirety. (Season 1 is shockingly hard to get ahold of outside of Netflix streaming, but I am working on it, so I can share it with my non-Netflixy friends.)
