Electroconvulsive therapy is quackery! There are very, very few things which clinical trials show that it is an effective treatment for.

Have you ever read the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich? There are several where she, her sidekick Lula and her arch nemesis Joyce Barnhardt tase the crap out of each other and it's hilarious.

Actually - ask Shaia. She knows this stuff better than I, but we discussed it briefly a few days ago, and she mentioned that it still has limited uses for very specific conditions.

As for the old habit of "shock em all", that's not happening anymore.
