the saga of the left index finger

The pin is pulled, the finger is stiff, swollen and sore. I'd like to know how long to expect it to stay that way. The surgeon seems to think I should have most of the feeling in it back within six months. Right now I have almost no movement in the DIP joint and the PIP joint is very stiff but if I work it I can approximate a fist. It looks
