the saga of the left index finger

The pin is pulled, the finger is stiff, swollen and sore. I'd like to know how long to expect it to stay that way. The surgeon seems to think I should have most of the feeling in it back within six months. Right now I have almost no movement in the DIP joint and the PIP joint is very stiff but if I work it I can approximate a fist. It looks ( Read more... )

The picture of you with the finger in the splint...you color looked so good! It looks like you are feeling better all over!

Hooray for progress! Looking at the photo sequence you can see it though I know from experience living it is very different.

What kind of physio are you having on it? I'm guessing you have gentle stretching and strengthening as well as manipulation?

Have a virtual gentle massage of your hand.

I'm not really doing any strengthening yet, mostly flexing and extending, forcing it into a fist and holding it, and massaging it to loosen everything up and maybe reduce some of the swelling.
