I haven't updated my journal for some time now and anyway I thought maybe I should write about something other than my RL problems so...

Ranting about True Blood (spoilerish of the season finale) and ranting and musings about Game of Thrones (spoilerish of the later books, Shae-related). Also flailing over Once Upon a Time.

The latest True Blood is just about to air here, while a new season is about to air in the USA so I'm behind and can't comment. The last season I saw was the Witch wars which I thought was relatively well handled in terms of evil/good/shades of grey representations of witchcraft, though I was sad to see Jesus die, because I liked him, and because it's another example of the Dead Gay Character trope rearing its ugly head (and he was also a character of colour, and in a loving non-hetero relationship

Re: True Blood. I liked the witches' season. If anything it made sense. Now though I don't understand half of the things that are going on. Starting with characters' motivation. They seem to do what the writers force them to do rather than being themselves and doing what they would like to do. O_o I've lost count how many times I facepalmed during this season

Oh dear. I guess I shall be mostly looking at Eric and Alcide rather than worrying about plot this season then! I love Jessica and Pam too, so maybe it won't be too bad

I hardly ever manage to see TV shows when they actually air, so I can't comment much.

True Blood is the one with Sookie Stackhouse the telepathic waitress and her vampire boyfriend, right? I know something about the books, but have a hard time getting past the name 'Sookie Stackhouse' and actually reading them.

Game of Thrones: again, I've read the books but not seen the show. I do think Joffrey is extra vilified, though - I mean yes, he's awful, but like you said everyone has good points and it simply can't have been easy growing up with the whole Jaime/Cersei/Robert thing.

Dany is played by a good actress, I know that, so I'm sorry to hear that she doesn't get much to do.

Once Upon a Time: everyone is talking about this. I'm starting to think I look for it!

Yeah, that's True Blood.
I tried to read the books but the first person's POV (Sookie's... gods, she was insufferable!) was killing me and I gave up.

GoT: Yes, this! I imagine Joffrey's childhood wasn't all hugs and puppies. I would like it to be acknowledged more at some point in the books. It would have explained most of his behavior at least.
I'm very disappointed when author just says "he's evil because I say so" instead of trying to explain why.

I love Emilia Clarke, too, and I was sad to see so little of her this season.
