NIRVANA (BAND) - WIKIPEDIA

...

In November 1993, the band decided to change direction and sat down for an appearance on MTV Unplugged. The sessions revealed the depth of Cobain's songwriting, which had often been buried under the sonic fury of the band's sound. The song selection also demonstrated Cobain's broad musical interests through his ( Read more... )

Thanks! It was my art project for the month of April, that's for sure. Took for-freaking-ever to write. I was worried it was so long that no one would read it, though, so I'm glad you did.

I didn't actually slip it in to the regular Wikipedia entry, deciding finally it would be slightly more lame than it would be cool to do so.

I don't think many Wiki pranksters write 3-page entries complete with dozens of fully-functional links, though. Mostly their work is limited to proclaiming themselves the biggest AFI fan and substituting a picture of a vagina for the headshot on the entry for Nancy Pelosi (both actually happened).

I support this. Nirvana fans deserve his old stuff far more than she ever did or will.

Point of interest: I sincerely doubt I'll ever have pajamas of my own that I keep for 13 years, let alone someone else's that I sleep in. Eeechh.

Point of interest #2: Their daughter, 14, looks about 27 in that picture. WTF.

Hi, dwu.

Interesting. It makes you wonder if Kurt would have become more legendary if he’d gone the way of Eddie Vedder. Poor Eddie. He was in a lot of pain that we all understood through his music. We will never forget.

Ha! WIN

I think I'll have to listen to No Code a few times in a row before I write that one.

Now to write one where Metallica break up in 1992, thereby sealing their fate as the greatest metal band of all time and sparing fans of 15 years of garbage.

Could you please get on that right away?

This is somewhat unrelated, but the idea of writing about rock reminded me of something I'd been meaning to ask. Have you read any of Chuck Klosterman's books? Last summer I read Killing Yourself to Live. It's pretty much Jack Kerouac meets High Fidelity. Not a super read, but tons of music trivia.

I've been told to read one single Chuck Klosterman book by multiple people. The consensus seems to be that he's funny at first, but then gets sort of annoying in that "I want to kick your ass for being too clever" sort of way if you read too much.

Right now I'm picking my way through 1984, since I never read it in school. I'll take your suggestion to heart before too long, though.
