Bleh, feeling weird and emo and ... just all sorts of weird, IDEK. Naturally I decided to make it worse by finishing off The Office - I've been watching it most nights for a while now and I just wanted to be done with it. My feels:

I actually just started doing my own Office catch up a few days ago. Though I started with season 6 because there were a lot of little ones I had missed here and there (along with most of 7 and all of the rest).

Just glanced over your reactions, not looking forward to the characters being more annoying. Only looking forward to some Catherine Tate at least!

Yeah I quit the first time around s6-7, and then I caught up and promptly stopped watching again. XD Should have ended with Jim and Pam getting married IMO, it's been very hit-or-miss since then. Some great episodes in s8-9 though, definitely still enjoyable to watch if you are patient with the annoying stuff.

Catherine Tate is perfect, I love her so much. I feel like they didn't know what to do with her in the beginning but they found the right tone after a while (and then she kind of got sidelined and a bit too wittled down, I feel like they went a bit far in tuning her character).

Also as for characters being annoying that's mainly Jim and Andy IMO, some people complained about Pam but I love her and did not find her annoying at all.
I look forward to hearing your take on it!

I hated how they tried to break up Jim and Pam. We all knew they couldn't end the show with them being apart, so it felt totally useless, and just like the writers were dicking us around by ruining the best thing about the show.

And yeah, I didn't understand why they made half the cast stop working at the Office in the finale either.

Yeah, so stupid and unnecessary! I was super-annoyed by that, such a waste of the final season.

I know right? That was so random and weird!

I haven't watched The Office in ages, I think i stopped after season 3 or 4 and never went back because it became more depressing than funny. And after I heard about the drama created for the final season with Jim and Pam, I really didn't want to watch. I sorta want to see the finale, just because everyone is raving about it but, at the same time, people keep mentioning tears and feels and ... I'm worried maybe it was a bit too cliche. But I guess that's a comedy ending...too bad the show sounds like it had more drama than laughs when it comes to the last few seasons.

I suppose it depends on if you have the time or not, but I definitely don't regret watching it all and there were a lot of really good episodes past s4. The final season drama was annoying but still worth getting through for the ending imo, it was a sweet, satisfying farewell and since it had run so long and felt like it had run its course it didn't feel sad, just a bit bittersweet. I love my endings to be cliche though, as long as it's happy cliches.
Oh and you should watch s8-9 for the magic awesomeness of Nellie, she was awesome. I personally really liked Robert California too, but appearantly most people hated him.
