i've never had a chance to sleep in a hammock. the last time i went cottaging, shawn and don (bryan's friends) slept outside in the hammocks and woke up covered in spiders. they didn't try that again.
ooooooh barbequing at your place. can we have a homemade hamburger party? i have a good issue of food and wine that's about making your own burgers. i even have 5 kgs of ground beef in the freezer, ready to go.
it's been really bad. just unbelievably humid. it cooled down for the first time last night so it's all right but for a while, i considered sleeping in the the schoolyard of lord roberts.
I don't think I'd ever try an overnight sleep in a hammock but an afternoon nap is pretty sweet.
5 kgs! That's a lot of beef. Yeah, let's have a hamburger party!
My house is usually pretty good in hot weather since I've got some good shade trees on my property but when we have an extended spell of hot weather it can get quite toasty inside. Last week my house was getting up to 30ºC during the day and only going down a couple of degrees overnight. I'm back down to a very comfortable 24ºC now.
I try not to complain about the weather but I wish there was a breeze during the heat wave. It would have helped tremendously. We have ceiling fans in the kitchen and bedrooms and that helped a lot and I have two little retro jet-engine fans that have been employed considerably. We had Del Monte popsicles every night and I made drinks like iced tea and rubina. I haven't been outside since this morning but it was nice going to work.
I'm house-sitting again next week. You and Sarah should come over for dinner (Selena and Oliver should too)!
our trip back was uneventful. the driving directions that rodney gave us were really good. i was sad to go but happy to be back in canada. i think if i could have transported myself like i dream of genie styles from ann arbor to the canadian border without having to drive through michigan, i would have saved myself a lot worrying!
p.s. there's a 23 year old guy named brett (jetstojapan) aping your styles. he likes indie rock and he's going to school in japan. it might blow his mind, matrix-styles if you friended him ; p
