wow. I'd like to see the article in context, just because I want to believe that it's not true.... but I have a sinking feeling that it's more fact than fiction...

I actually just bought a zip up hoodie from them that I'm embroidering for my mom's birthday. Their plain tops make a nice canvas for quick hand made projects.

the italicized quote above was taken from an article in that link but i'd like to see the jane magazine interview. i've seen him a few times on the new music (a lefty music news show in canada), pontificating on why we don't need unions, etc. i found him a little too full of rhetoric and the whole thing just puzzled me.

bad politics aside, i really do like their clothes which is why this is even more complicated. i like the cuts of the t-shirts and underwear. awww, your mum sounds like she'll have a really wonderful birthday. warren and i have hoodies from them too. are you using stability paper while embroidering?

I didn't need the stability paper since the knit of the sweater is so think but like a fool I put one of my patterns on a pocket so I have been actually stitching with my hand inside the pocket which is a total pain in the butt. Oh well, live and learn :)

I'm also making these almond muffins with dried cherries for her that she requested. Actually just today I found a little woven basket and a buffalo-check blue&white cotton napkin to wrap them in (both a steal for just under $10 total), much better than the gladware I was planning on sticking them in.

I might have asked you this before but have you read the magazine ReadyMade? I can't remember if you said that it was available where you are.... Anyway, I bought one for myself but my mom picked on up for me too so if you want me to send the extra to you I'll pop it in the mail.

There is a cool exhibit coming up at The Henry Ford Museum (near Detroit) and is running through this summer so if you and Warren are still thinking about a little road trip we can see if we can work this into the schedule...
