I quit reading at, "Sometimes we just take the whole thing way to seriously." If the proofreader didn't take the article too seriously, why should we?

What's scary is that the writer actually thought all of this out (and then didn't have it proofread). I can't imagine Kellie winning this season.

I can't imagine Kellie winning either, but stranger things have happened.
The show would be such a joke if she winds up winning.

It really would be a joke.

Then again, look at how long Scott Savol lasted last season...

True...There always are a few people that last longer then they should, but you can't really argue with any of the 4 winners..Even though I'm not a Carrie fan, I can't deny that she deserved to win.

I agree with the article. I would change around some of the voting order that it suggests will happen, but that's really a minor point.

I saw the Simon interview on CNN last night and it was pretty interesting. That this is a show more about generating revenue for FOX and Simon's record label than it is about finding 'undiscovered talent' was made very apparent in many of his comments. I doubt any of the tweens voting for Hickler... um, I mean Pickler... saw the interview.

I can see Kellie improving ala Kimberley Locke, but there's no way she wins this season. I mean the biggest surprise that an AI final two has ever seen was arguably Diana Degarmo. Kelly/Justin, Ruben/Clay, and Carrie/Bo were all pretty damn predictable, and I don't think season will be any different.

As far as the 1.5 singing career thing goes, I think Simon was referring to Kelly and Fantasia. Ruben has fallen off the face of the earth, Clay's career is suffering from all the gay "rumors," and Carrie hasn't had long enough to prove herself. Kelly is HUGE so she's the full career and Fantasia has to be the .5 because she has received tons of critical acclaim if not the record sales of the other idols.

I was thinking the same exact thing, but I'm thinking he could possiblly be counting Carrie as the half career. Her album sales have been really solid and I think she's on her way to having the 2nd most successful Idol album (after Breakaway)

I'm also surprised that Bo's video is doing well on TRL.

It makes complete sense. Little girls run the voting on that show just like 12- to 18-year-olds have been running the music industry for years by being the demographic that spends the most dollars on merchandise.

As for the half career.... maybe Simon was lumping a bunch of folks together into that half career.

That's what I tend to think, because Fantasia, Ruben, and Carrie can't exactlyl be considered failures, but they're also not superstars.

Oh...I love Lucky Charms, by the way..HA HA!
