was there a friending incident because those are so annoying. though i don't know what i'm technically putting within the category of "friending incident" i just made up. =)
for friendING yeah i end up finding people through similar interests and then if i find we have more in common than original interest and there's some quirk or something that i'm interested in i must friend. =)
friending BACK? i think my policy is the same to yours. and that i look for possible scarily insane/ignorant tendencies that might make a journal something to cringe at on my flist.
meanwhile i noted new layout but hadn't commented yet and melikey.
No, no friending incident. It's just that when I'm commenting to someone, I find myself repeating myself over and over on how my LJ and friending works. This way I don't have to do that and can just link them to it :)

(07/03/05) A week ago. I keep track of such things, through the whole 'daily status' business. You've been responding to a friends-only entry for a while now {amused}.
I don't really have a policy. I usually meet people in friends' journals or communities, and if we have a nice conversation, have some common interests and the person seems generall interesting (i.e. I want to comment on their entries) I go on and friend them! Or they do and I friend back.
I defriend those who NEVER comment and/or never write. (I defriended several people who I met outside LJ, like message boards, friended for the sake of it, but we never really clicked.)
I don't friend strangers who don't even bother to introduce themselves.
I never friend people with poor spelling and plenty of typos. It irritates me to no end.
I'm glad that you and I seemed to have clicked from holiday_wishes.
I still have the few I friended from that on my list, but because they're good people, I don't quite feel right defriending them even if we don't comment that much with each other.
I have a few friends who I'll never defriend even though we barely talk at LJ. For example, tyskkvinna, I've known her for about 8 years! It's bloody unbelievable, because we've never met in person. But we talk on MSN and I respect her a lot.
