Goodbye, Farewell and Amen...

I think in the long run if I had to pick a favorite TV show of all time it would be M*A*S*H (specially the Col. Potter/Charles Emerson Winchester years)but eventually it - no matter how good it was came to an end...sometimes you just have to know when the time is right - BUT...

...For every ending there is a new beginning...

I liked Potter and Winchester, but M*A*S*H lost it for me when BJ got the mustache; not cause of that itself, but it marked when Alan Alda took the show over and Hawkeye stopped drinking and chasing the nurses and became shall I say Mr. Alan Alda Sensitive Wussy Male...the self rightousness got way too thick after that...

You have very good point...Hawkeye often times did become overly sensitive and downright wussy. He was Emmy's bitch, I suppose...

BTW--LOVE your user pic.

I went into labor with my first child the night the last M*A*S*H premiered. It took me eleven years to finally get to see it. Glad I missed it that night, considering what happened to the baby. **shudder**

That's it's my top five too. Especially the Col. Potter era.
