He follows her across the field and through the trees, lacing his fingers with hers. He takes in the sights, wondering what it would have been like to live here instead of Osiris.
A little further and the sounds of water could be heard rushing down. "Come on." she says hurrying him along.
Soon, they were standing over the cliff looking down at a medium size waterfall. One that looked a like perfect swimming pool surrounded by beautiful trees.
Kaylee beams looking around. "Used t'spend summer days here swimmin'. Could get really hot and stuff, but here. Here is was always nice."
She leans gently against him. Not a true cuddle or cling. She swallows. "It's...it's alright..." she whispers against his chest. "My back don' hurt that bad..."
He smiles sadly. "I wasn't talking about your back, baobei," he says, pulling away so he can turn her gaze towards him. He cups her face and looks her in the eye, apology, remorse and a deep love in his eyes.
"I have hurt you far too many times with my careless words," he says. "For that, I am sorry."
She looks into his eyes and the sadness seems to leave her own and the soft smile appears. She was still hurt, but it wasn't as bad as before. At least Simon knew he hurt her and wanted to make it better.
"It's not your words this time, sweetie." she says simply. "It's your timin'." She kisses his cheek. "Don' worry no more. I won't come after ya about sex until we leave." Her takes his hand from her face and threads her fingers with his. "Come on. We better be gettin' back."
Kaylee shakes her head. "Ain't no but, Momma. This time, there ain't no but and that's what's got me thinkin'." she says softly.
Lee nods. "I'm sure ya will someday, son. I'm sure ya will." A pause. "Hey, I got me a rusted old fence that needs mendin'. Think ya could help an old man out tomorrow?"
Kaylee turns from her vanity when she hears his knock and his voice. He came anyway. Now, she feels guilty for going to him, but she didn't want him to get the wrong idea. She stands and walks over to the door and opens it.
She was in her white nightdress and her hair laid soft like her just finished brushing it. She sees him and her breath catchs trying to remember that he was only here to see to her back. She smiles. "Hi." she whispers and moves so he could come in.
"Hi," he whispers back, stepping into her room so she can close the door. He smiles and his eyes play over her body appreciatively.
Did we mentiont that this was going to be a long two weeks?
He reaches up to caress her cheek, needing to touch her in some small way. He'd gift her with a soft kiss, too, but he wasn't sure he could keep it from going further.
He smile and nods. "You do," he whispers, sitting on the bed, with the pillows behind him and tucking one leg under him. He puts his medkit down on the bed in front of him and flips it open.
Then he's watching Kaylee, pushing the kit to the side and waiting for her.
A few days before they leave....strawberry_luveDecember 31 2006, 17:29:26 UTC
Lee was in the barn pitching hay where he had been for most of the day. Though hard work is what made him happy so he was whistling a happy tune as he worked.

Lee greets Simon with a grateful smile and takes the glass. "Thank you, my boy." he states walking over to an old crate and sits down. He wipes her brow with an old piece of cloth from his pocket before takes a sip of the cool water. That is when he notices Simon still standing.
"Sit, Simon, sit! The hay ain't goin' no where. Even the young need rest. Sit and tell me what my girls are up to. They still bakin' those gorram cookies?"

Simon just smiles, as he was actually starting to move for the seat next to Lee when the elder man spoke.
"Yep, still baking. I'm not sure we're going to have enough room to take them all back with us." He sighs with a grin. "And I can't tell Kaylee that all this is unecessary, either, because it'll ruin the surprise."

And, you know, maybe snuggle a bit, too, to make up for his crappy timing. But he leaves that part implied.
Then he's leading her off, hand-in-hand.

Lee nods. "Yep, just hope I'm around when she does. Nuthin' like youngin' under foot."

Simon's smile softens at the mention of children. "Nothing, indeed," he says. "I hope I'm blessed with children of my own someday."

Really, he was making sure that Kaylee was occupied with her mom elsewhere, so he and the elder man could talk privately.
He's back in the barn soon enough, glasses in hand. He waits for Lee to pause before he offers him a glass.
