Simon has an idea of what's going on, but he doesn't say anything. He takes Kaylee by the hand and leads her outside.

nce they're gone, Penny gathers up the rest of the dishes and heads into the kitchen. "Min' tellin' me what's goin' on? Why you givin' me tha'look?"

Kaylee smiles and takes his offered hand as they start to walk. "Kindda funny how Momma pushed us out. Think she's up t'sumthin'?"

Lee smiles as he starts to wash the dishes. "Simon's gonna ask lit'Kaylee t'night, me dear." he says simply.

Simon smiles. "I think so, although I believe it was more on your father's prompting more than anything." He starts to lead her towards the waterfall, without really leading her...he's being sneaky. Just because he's already done this doesn't mean it has to be any less special.

It's a good thing she had most of the stuff on the counter, because whatever is left in her hands falls to the ground with a crash, as her hands come up to her mouth and she gasps. "...No! E's truly askin'?" she says, slightly breathless. "E's wantin' t'marry our baby girl..."

Lee jumps at the crashing dishes and than laughing at his wife's reaction. He shuts off the water and dries his hands on a towel before turning to take his wife's hands in his own. "Yes, my dear. He asked me t'day if he could and I can 'im my blessin'. He loves our Kaylee and he wants t'marry 'er."

Kaylee gives Simon a curious look. "Pop was promptin' Momma? I'm confused."

She nods, but doesn't move to leave for a few more moments than a finally peck and she grabs Simon's hand to drag him back to the house to show her Momma the ring.

And Penny isn't waiting for them. Really she isn't. She isn't standing at the door ready to gather her girl in a hug, happy tears flowing from her eyes. She isn't waiting to hug Simon tightly and dubbing him her son and telling him to cut 'the Mrs. Frye crap, and call me momma like you ought'.

Because she isn't. Really.

Kaylee is a fit of giggles as she watches her Momma's reaction and Simon beng tossed about like a rag doll. Really its so cute...

But, soon Lee is sooing them inside for sweeties and wine.

And it's odd for Simon to be so included as family. Sure, Mal considers the Tams as family, but it's different than this. This...this is what a true family should be, and it's something he never got from Regan and Gabriel.

He's a little dazed by it all.

Penny is, of course, bouncing around happily, gushing over the ring and other girl-things.

She gives a content sigh into the kiss and holds him close for a bit.

"You wanna go get int' your sleep pants?" she asks after a bit.

"That would be a bit more confortable," he admits. He doesn't move though. Moving means interrupting his Kaylee-cuddling.

She smiles and kisses his nose. "Well, go on than." she prompts. "I'll be here when ya get back."

He smiles, giving her nose a playful lick. And then he's getting up before she can swat him with a pillow.

He walks back to his room and changes. He's back in Kaylee's room in short order.

She gives a soft moan into the kiss as their tongues slide against each other. Her eyes closes as her hands caress his back and sides.

Though soon she couldn't take it anymore and she breaks the kiss and opens her eyes. "Honey? I'm sorry, but....but we gotta stop. If...if we don' now, I....I don' think I'll be able t'keep my promise......" she whispers.

[Yep! I'll be on tomorrow! I have work at 1 my time, but I will be on in the morning around 7 my time till I have to work. :) I have a surprise for you :P *hugs*]

He looks at her and nods, not wanting to stop, but knowing they have to. He swallows thickly and tries to catch his breath and calm down, holding her and resting his forehead against hers.

He kisses her tenderly one last time before settling for the cuddling.

She snuggles close to him as her hands softly run up and down his bare skin. "I wish we didn' have to, but...but...we'll be home soon." she whispers.

He smiles. "I wish we didn't have to either, but being here with you is enough."
