Mom & Dad & I moved to the house in Jamaica Beach last night. We have electricity but no hot water. This time, M&D are also hit really hard, but we are all pooling resources to make it work. There may be property or lifestyle casualties when it's all said & done.
BUT, catastrophic event or minor setback...in a few years, we will be back stronger & better than before, better protected where we were vulnerable this time. In the meantime...we spend more time together than we have since we were all one family under one roof decades ago. One of the first things we did once we got settled in at my brother's home was to all go to the local Safari park & act like everything is fine. Ultimately...everything IS fine ...it's just stuff.

This stuff will seal the bottom seal of the walls so bugs won't get in (yeah...right!), and will change the airflow completely so it'll be like living inside an icechest.
Once he's done, my guys are ready to hang the outside walls with sheetrock, tape, float & texture it.
Then we can start painting everywhere in the house! The marble guy is already building the tubs & surrounds & will bring them in sometime this week. I need to find vanities that will fit the bathrooms & he will also install marble on them...then the bath's are done. After that is complete I need to choose flooring...HOPEFULLY by then I will have gotten some insurance money. I have been doing all of this out of my own pocket so far...soon I will have to stop & wait...but concrete floors don't bother me...I can move in with one bed & a fridge as long as I have bathrooms.
