It seems slow going to me, but I guess the house is going together pretty fast when I compare it to other houses I have seen. The tile is in and grouted & the bamboo floors have been started as of today. The SBA also decided to NOT loan me money. They decided that I would be better served by a FEMA grant than an SBA loan. I like the sound of that. ( Read more... )

YAY! It's from Brazil...and I got it for what worked out to about .63 cents a tile. I have no idea what it is supposed to cost, but I am a sucker for a bargain.

YOU will be the only one to know I have Brazilio-Tawainese tile btw...

Thanks! I love it too! It's bright red & chrome. It's as retro as the house. I think from Chiasso.com 5 years ago or so.

I want to move home so badly!

Very nice!
The bamboo in the bedroom looks like oak.
It would seem that given your business and the possibility that you can steer business their way (or not), the insurance company should recognize that it's in their best interest to treat you well.

Thank you. That's why I like vertical carbonized bamboo...it takes a minute to realize WHAT the floor is actually made of.

Insurance claims that their hands are tied by what the federal flood program rules allow. I can understand that to a point...but not why the numbers are so low.

RESPA (Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act)rules dissuade me from suggesting a particular service provider; so I don't get to send them business...thank goodness.

RESPA. OK, in that case if you're going to trade favors I guess your last name would have to be Blagojevich.

LOL...my good friend Neal is also a builder. There is a toilet marketed here in the States that can supposedly flush 23 golfballs at once without clogging. He ut them in his home during renovations and finally clogged one with roughly half a roll of paper towels.

I think maybe Dyson makes them??! More suction!!
