Worst-ever episode of your favorite (or close enough as to make no difference) TV series.  The one that you try very hard to forget ever happened, and which, if you think about it too long, makes you question your otherwise unhealthy devotion.

Don’t think too long about it, just go.

Oh, mine?  God, that’s all too easy: The Doctor’s Daughter, in which ( Read more... )

I adore the Venture Bros like that show was my other child, but I submit that "Guess Who's Coming to State Dinner" and "Doctor Quywm, Medicine Woman" were both pretty much irredeemably wretched.

(Mind you, two complete duds out of four entire seasons of near nonstop awesome is a pretty impressive record.)

And yes, "clip shows" should be disqualified. (And is the reason that I don't count "Love and Monsters" as the worst-ever nu-Who episode.)

I don't have a submission, but I do have a question that has been bugging me for years. Now's as good a time as any.

What the heck is your userpic? The left part is the Manhattan subway system, but what is that thing in Brooklyn? A Cthulu?

It's not my *favourite* show, but it's one of my favourites: Moonlighting. To get out of Maddy being pregnant, they had an It's-A-Wonderful-Life-esque episode in which Bruce Willis played her unborn child. At the end of it, she has a late-term miscarriage. And the next episode, they're back to their wacky adventures!

Hm, actually, that one was primarily a clip show, so I guess it doesn't count. Does stick out as one of the truly worst episodes of television ever aired, though.

Also in the running: the finale of The Prisoner.

Yeah, that's up there. (Worst part for me is just about every idea in that show *could have been clever* if it had just been executed properly.

Mind you, I kind of hated yesterday's episode.

It's not my favorite show ever, but I loved the first season of "Lie to Me" only to be stopped cold by the first episode of the second season. It was so bad I literally have not been able to bring myself to watch any more of it. Not because I think the rest will be equally horrific, but just because I now have an oogy feeling about the whole show and the main character in particular.

I should note that bad doesn't exactly mean just bad writing here. Rather, someone on the writing staff failed to grasp that when you're trying for the trope "he's an ass because he's so focused on his work, but it's important work, so it's still lovable!" you should draw the line well before sexual assault.
