I had to look hard to see the ghost, but I finally did. Really creepy that nothing else got reflected, but it does make for a more interesting image that way, however accidentally it was obtained. ^..^

It depends on the type of screen you have. My big 24-inch flat screen and laptops show it easily, but its hardly there at all on the old work CRT. A lot has to do with the gamma settings of the screen.

I love the pinwheel nebula.

And I'm sorry I haven't been commenting! I had been looking at The Shiny from my phone, and commenting from there is not fun. But I love your photos, and I totally pimped you today! I hope that draw in more commenty-types.

Hiya; I had a strange glitch, in which one of those "?"'s showed for me, instead of the images. However, once I decided to visit the comments you've received, I could see ... looking at your beauties right now.

This post of yours is insanely spectacular! The Crab, the eeriness of the edge-on galaxy, the yummy, sparkler-looking M2, & the pinwheel galaxy (looks like a disembodied soul!) -- unfriggen-believably amazing, Doc!

This was one of my better shiny posts - which is why I was shocked that I got *no* replies. In the old days of LJ, this would not happen - but times are different.

You got no replies? I guess they were all busy with family. And heethen_crone has had to go back to work.

Thanks for the shiney pics, and maybe because my eyes are bad and I have to peer anyway, I can see the "ghost" quite clearly :-) Strokes to the kitties.
