I agree - she is a pretty, velvety female.

I'm not familiar with Psalmopeus reduncus... is she palm-sized, larger or smaller?
I assume from Google that she's one of the larger breeds if she needs a five-gallon tank.
Either way, she looks very pettable.

Not really all that big - she's maybe 4 to 4.5 inches, but quite thick bodied. She will molt soon though - and maybe get a 1/2 or more larger.

Most of these New World spider females live around 12 to 15+ years - the desert forms up to 30.

Wow...I though spiders were short lived critters. Guess that's what I get for basing a chunk of my spider knowledge on 'Charlotte's Web'

I would hate to have that spider wake me up by crawling over me at night.

So, do you like...pet them? Or do you just admire them trough glass, like fish?
Being a pet owner confined to canines, it always fascinates me when non-domesticated species are kept as companions for humans.

Depends on the type of tarantula and/or its disposition. Some of the more docile species can be picked up, others (esp. old world species)this can be a risky venture. I prefer not to mess with most of my pets - preferring to watch them.
