So I have more an more friends these days choosing to pick up a MacBook or other apple computer format.  I have had conversations with them about various Mac/PC issues.  Don't confuse me with someone who has begrudge against Mac.  I think Mac computers in the last decade have really come together.  I have my complaints and that is acceptable.  I ( Read more... )

You can configure the Macbook mouse to right- and left-click. And if you hold control and click, it also acts like a right-click without prior configuration. At least that's what we've found with Christine's Macbook Pro; it might be different for the non-Pro, however.

So far, we've found that you can configure a lot of things in her Mac. The manual runs you through it. I think it's just a matter of a pure PC user switching and having to stumble around and figure everything out again, like with any new machine or hard/software.

I've also never had a huge issue with my iPod. If you update the software regularly, it runs perfectly. Well, as perfect as any man-made thing is going to run.

You can convert the button on the laptop to right and left click ? Thats not so bad then. I hate laptop peripherals. The goal of having everything in one hand is you can do it one handed ... hehe.

iPod aren't terrible, like i said - but compared to cost and hardware performance and failure rate of other devices they are substandard. Only about 15% of ipod users ever have a serious issue, but thats alot in terms of millions of ipods. Their best asset are iTunes and the ipod firmware, and to date - i found nothing that compares for software. They could do better and still make money, they just dont need to.

There's still configuring it so you can right- and left-click using the mouse on the laptop itself.

But, as with anything, everyone likes different things. I'm wanting to switch to a Mac myself when I get the funds for it.

Well I got a mouse with a right and left click mouse that works with my macbook pro. Also you can configure your mousepad to right click my just click down in the right hand corner of it. I am liking it so far. Not having right click was one of my biggest concerns, but the mouse I bought works in the same way as a "PC" mouse. And I still love PCs. I just wanted to try a Macbook to see if it would run faster.

right hand corner ... i mean it works but its still a hassle, a lot more amenable.

I am glad the mac book is working out for you. Dont get me wrong, its a decent computer, I was inspired to write this by a conversation with someone who is in the sphere of Macs are 100 times better than PCs for

I am quite happy that, IMO, Mac are competitive platforms ... atleast until Google Chrome OS rolls out :p
