Iceland

Poor Japan - things just seem to go from bad to worse
At least 10,000 dead now and one city has reported they are running out of body bags. 1,000 bodies found washed ashore. Can you imaging being the one to find that? And if the tsunami wasn't bad enough, they have had so far 3 explosions at one nuclear plant and 2 other nuclear plants are damaged. Meditations for a Kind Heart
I will be starting a new series in my meditation class tonight entitled “Meditations for a Kind Heart.” We’ll be spending the next six weeks working on eliminating our self-cherishing by learning how to cherish others. The meditations we will be doing include cherishing others, taking away suffering, and giving happiness. -

Enlightenment
Enlightenment is awakening to reality, the realization of the nature of all phenomena being empty, or the realization of emptiness. In the West we often translate "Buddha" to mean one who is enlightened, but it actually means who is awake. When asked what exactly he was, Buddha replied that he was awake.
