I've been doing an awful lot of fan-fic reading lately and I find myself wondering do these writers actually take the time to plot their stories? It is like reading day-time soap opera's! Just when you think everyone should be settling down into normal life another *HUGE* event happens, then another and then another. I just find myself wondering ( Read more... )

I think I need to learn the trick that stops me from reading these terribly bad horrible stories. The latest one (a HP/HG) has taken me three days to read! Three days! And it still wasn't finished!

I'm all for writing ... authors feel free to write all the bad fiction you want ... I just want to ability to be able to stop reading it!

As for my own writing, I think I'll stick to the short pieces!

Fanfictions that read like the 'neverending' story? I've seen a few of those. LOL! Heck, my own Snagrid series originally started out as a single standalone story. Then Snape and Hagrid kidnapped my Muse, tied her to a chair, set the laptop in front of her, and cast an Imperio curse to keep her typing ( ... )

The review part does have me worried. I read the authors notes saying how surprised they are at how many reviews they have received and I think ... just what were the reviewers saying? My mind was screaming 'don't do it' 'don't go there'!

I am awfully tempted to write a series of stories 'a day in the life of' of each of the HP characters. Just to remind everyone that even dramatic lives have really boring and average days. Days that nothing out of the ordinary happens. I can just see the reviews now "This would never happen! Do you know who you are writing about?"

It's bloody fantastic to have my personal life back. To have life back! And yes, the drugs are prescribed by a doctor! *grins*

Perhaps I should put the call out ... pick a character and write a normal boring day for them!
