I just wanted to let you all know so you won't wonder where we've disappeared to or why. due to a whole lot of personal crap and a big mess w/ our finances, we have decided not to even try for DragonCon this year. last year was a bloody mess, VERY dissappointing, and EXTERMELY stressful, and I don't need that kind of shit when I'm paying that kind ( Read more... )

yes, that entrance fee has already been squeezed into the May budget, just couldn't do it as a pre-reg. plus carpooling is an option w/ JC and Sam and Sherri going too, so gas isn't nearly as much of a drain, plus is half the distance. :) honestly though, I have so much CRAP to do still that I'm getting stressed about my to-do list! :/ got to finish Rick's doublet and mask and do at least 1 tunic for JC (preferably 2) and still have no idea what I'm going to wear. ::sigh:: I may wind up taking a vacation day next friday to get everything done. still have to do those medalions you asked for too. haven't even had time to touch my sculpy lately sadly. pretty sure I've still got the picy lying around. if not I'll drop you an email to jog my non-existant memory.

lol! yep. that's the one. or was. ::sigh:: crazy where life takes you eh? just plan on bringing a mask! we want the reception to be a traditional masquerade ball a-la Phantom of the Opera. :) here's hoping we can rent a decent sized reception site for dancing! we're hoping to rent a funeral home, but haven't priced the rental fees or peoples' willingness for such things yet. I know there's at least 1 in Oak Ridge that will even go so far as to rent you the hearse and caskets along w/ the site to have a wedding-funeral procession between the ceremony and the reception! got their card someplace... ::evil grin::

thank you dear lady! that means a lot actually 'cause I really don't know you well at all OOP. :) I'm sure it'll get better, just a matter of time and I've been feeling really burned out on just about everything these days, not just game and money crap. if my house would magically clean itself and my yard would stop growing rampant I'd be less stressed! when I'm actually home with no guests it seems like I'm always in the middle of a project and I've never been lil' suzy housekeeper to begin with. I just wish I could come up w/ some sort of structure or schedule to get it all done and get it done on time. ::sigh:: the feeling of disorganization and frustration will pass. always does. for the moment I keep reminding myself to just keep chin-up and all that. :) hope all's going well for you guys too! we'll miss everybody. hopefully we'll be able to come back in the fall once things calm down a bit. will just have to see how things pan out.

lol! actually, I have no idea what we're going to do. we may go with the funeral motif and actually get a real preacher, but we'd have to find one who'd work with the halloween funeral theme thing. it would certainly make things easier on coordinating the paperwork. :) we have a friend who's an ordained member of the International Church of the Jedi, but I don't know the legality of that being recognized in TN or not. a friend told me TN is really weird about which nationally recognized religions they choose to recognize here. she's an ordained member of the Church of Eris or some such, but I'll be DAMNED if I'm letting a freakin practicing *ordained* Discordian do my wedding ceremony!!! ;) I think me and Rick have had our fair share of chaos already! lol!
