I felt very virtuous as I thoroughly vacuumed the house today--well, thoroughly for me. I read somewhere--flylady maybe? about how you don't always have to vacuum really well, you can just vacuum without moving the furniture--that for me is vacuuming. Congrats! I am just catching up after being away for a few days, but this sounds like a great opportunity. Dealing with people at work can be difficult, but it can also be quite fun, and it opens me up for more contacts and opportunities. So it's a matter of glass half-empty or half-full. I predict you'll find a happier balance between reloading LJ and working on personal projects in the evenings. You might just find you appreciate your personal time more and make better use of it. Plus (and I a may be going out on a limb here) I think it's good for your girls to see you working on something that is just yours, and feeling independent again. When kids are young, it's so easy to get lost in being only mommy. It could be a good lesson in attachment and being a parent.

Thank you! I really am looking forward to it, it's just that there is a portion of the job that is dealing with problems and while I did that as a manager of a coffee house years ago, it's been awhile. And I don't anticipate there being issues every time I work. I'm going to be working at a local theatre, with Brian having done so many different acting gigs over the years, I am sure I will be seeing a lot of people I know. And I do agree that it will be good for the girls to see me out doing something on my own.
