Pimping for England

Merry Holidays!  I hope y'all are enjoying a fantastic holiday season.  I had a pleasant (if undistinguished) Yule and a great Christmas.  It started out a bit rough, but improved as the day moved on.  Saw the whole family.  Gave and got swag.  One of the gifts I gave was handmade and I'm rather proud of it.  Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to ( Read more... )

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to getting to know my fun new toy. The software will provide a difficult learning curve for me though. And... I still have reservations (mostly guilt-inspired) for dipping into digital art. Exciting nonetheless though.

How's the CD? Up to par with the series? Is Jim Steinman still awesome? :D Inquiring minds DEMAND to know!

Heh. You "guess" he's getting old? XD I'm not sure anything will ever measure up to the old stuff, but it's good to know that the album's not a let-down.

(by the way; Ultimate Spider-Man 5: Though the whole volume I was wishing someone would just give Gwen a HUG. :( I finished 6 this afternoon also. I kind of like the spin on the symbiot (sp?) story. Fun stuff. Just, y'know, not for Pete.)

That is a mighty fine drawing, especially for, y'know, MS Paint. It's proof for anybody who says that you don't need traditional skills for computer art, because I have a tablet and I probably couldn't do that.

Thankee. I did a little in Jasc, but decided I didn't really want to be thinking about vector layers and raster layers just yet (I still don't quite get them...), so I figured Paint would do well enough for learning to handle the pen. To be fair though, it hardly REQUIRES a tablet. I'm just retarded when it comes to mouse art.

As for the people that say you don't need traditional skills for computer art... it really depends on the computer art. I expect a lot of the argument is about the effects that programs make so (relatively) simple and that the process is so very very different. I have mixed feelings on the subject myself, but I also have a great deal of respect for a lot of digital artists (Samain on dA for instance).

Yes, well... to be fair, Saimain is most likely some sort of minor deity. Because... wow.

Good point. She's almost worth worshipping. And I have high standards, so that's saying something.
