Believe it or not, I'm still around.  I would love to be online more often, but I'm still working on getting my desktop computer to work.  I've talked to HP tech support several times and, after running though all the should-be fixes that I'd already tried, they sent me recovery disks.  When the package arrived in the mail it had been bagged and ( Read more... )

No doubt this experience will drastically color my opinion the next time I'm shopping for a computer. The good news is that I FIXED IT. Ironically, the restore disk that I got online, that HP told me wouldn't do diddly-squat, was able to repair the partition table (which seemed to be corrupted again anytime I tried doing almost anything). Once that was done, I put in the disk that HP sent and voila, here I am (4 hours later...). Yay~~~
