2011 Music Mix
Once again I am stealing this idea from terrorcandy in making a 2011 music mix. The rules are simple: I've chosen one photo and one song from each month of this year, summing up my experience. Here's my 2010 mix.
January
The greatest birthday party ever at Sweets Paradise in Sakuragicho, Yokohama. After the cake buffet, we went down to Yokohama station for a giant karaoke session and purikura.

3/11/11, about ten minutes after the quake at IUC. None of us had any idea how bad it was at that point.

April
I was pretty depressed this month, but there was still some fun. Reuniting with Random and Dena at BMC!

The month I moved to Edmonton! My mom flew up and helped me shop and set up my new apartment. In the same month, my aunt had bought a second house in Myrtle Beach, hence the note.

Full-throttle into graduate school at the U of A. My professors couldn't take the onslaught of students, hence collapsing in the hall of the East Asian Studies floor.

The month of drama- couldn't stand my roommate, had a panic attack, ended up crying in the housing office and moved. But good things as well, such as free tickets to my first NHL game, hence I am now an Oilers fan. I will survive!

December was busy with finals, grading, more finals, and more grading. But everyone at UofA is awesome, so it wasn't that bad. And at our department Christmas party, my prof made Ninjabread men!

Overall 2011 was full of ups and downs. The beginning of the year was fantastic, then the earthquake changed everything. As horrible as it was, I think I grew up a lot because of that experience. Plus this year saw a new chapter of my life as I started grad school, which I've loved every minute of. (Minus grading. I hate grading.) I have high hopes for 2012 and everything to come!
