The reason why I loathe it so much is exactly because it glorifies abusive relationships. I mean, the sparkling thing is idiotic, but what really bothers me is how a stalker, an abusive guy is the romantic hero of the story. Not to mention how the moral is "girls, don't have sex before getting married, or you'll end up in hell!". And let's not forget the horrible, horrible pregnancy part. God, that was so disgusting.

LUV your icon. Seen the previews for the new Harry Potter movie at the Eclipse movie (tickets were FREE or else I wouldn't of went!)and I got goose bumps!
Hell yes! I also despise this franchise. I refuse to read the books because of how abusive this guy is, and do think that kids see this abomination as a role model. So he actually threatens to leave her in the book if she does or doesn't do this or that? Man, Stephy has issues. Since I've never read the books, I had no idea that Eds was that creepy.

He actually does leave her at one point, alone in the middle of a forest. This after he has isolated her from her friends. He also blames her for it, telling her that she's not good enough for him, knowing how badly this will hurt her. He also takes back everything he's ever given her or anything that she owns that is associated with him.
After that, he attempts to kill himself, telling her it's because of her.

Wha? He left her alone in themiddle of a forest? Why?! What the hell did she do to deserve that. I can't believe girls are dizzy over this guy. Sounds like emotional abuse is a big turn on for Meire. Nasty.

He leaves her after his vampire brother tries to attack her. I believe it was to protect her, but what he told her was that he was tired of her, tired of pretending to be something he wasn't, and that he didn't want her. Then he left her, didn't stick around to make sure she got home okay. She lay down and stayed in the forest in a deep dark emo depression for hours. Her father had to get a search party together.
And yes, it sounds just as stupid in the book as it does here.

I don't know why he didn't tackle Jasper, but that's me.
