I meant to do this a few days ago, but with things going the way they are, I'd forgotten.

I just want you all to know how much I appreciate the phone calls, comments and emails. This is a hard time for me and it's comforting to know that I've got friends that care.

Yesterday was the most horrible day. I never thought planning a funeral would be so damn hard. I went to the palliative care place and met my mom, brother and his fiance. We went in to visit my dad. Today is not a good day. My dad may be dying. He was put on dialysis two weeks ago and today, according to my mom, his body isn't responding to treatment. He's being moved from the hospital to some psychiatric care center to be placed on Hospice. My mom said that the doctor said that there's no telling how long he'll live. Winter is finally closing in and I'm thankful. Anytime I can trade blistering, sweltering heat for the biting cold of freezing temps is okay with me.

This year has brought many changes for me and while some are okay, some leave me wondering about what the future holds.
