Obedience - cheap, for now
One of the things I struggle with in my walk with Christ is being obedient.
According to Dietrich Boenhoeffer, the only thing that is important is following Christ. Period. Nothing else. We follow Him because of Who He is, and because He called us, and that's it.

Generation. When you hear this word you usually think older / younger generation, or maybe you think 20 years. My job
I keep hearing that your first year of teaching is overwhelming and stressful....that your second year is much better, and the third even better than that. That's what I keep hearing. I cling to the hope that this will be true.

It's bad enough Dear Husband has had to leave the church, but WHY oh WHY the misery of this horrible woman to tag on the end of this terrible, horrible, no good very bad week?

Having a hard time being Christian about this one....
So by now you know Dear Husband was forced out of his church job. It was so unfair, unjustified - basically, unChristian. But hey, people are human, right? We all fall short, we all need grace and forgiveness.

Fibroids
So, it turns out the reason I've been having all kinds of horrible menstruation problems the past couple of years is because I have fibroids. Two of them. They've grown - it's my fault, if I'd been going to the OBGYN regularly they would've been found earlier, and could've been removed much more easily, perhaps with minimally invasive surgery. Church politics: or, how being "the nice guy" can be a bad thing
