I'm leaving tomorrow. I'm driving around 1500 miles from Highland, IL to Tempe, AZ. It's about 22 hours of pure driving, plus stops and what have you. I'm pretty nervous about it, as it is just me and a completely filled 1996 Chevy Cavalier. Hopefully the cruise control will work during the trip, but I am not counting on it. I'm done with all my exams. Graduation is on Saturday, its just relax until then. Oh, except trying to find an apartment to live in 1500 miles from here.

I don't have any bread, so I can't eat any sandwiches, it sucks.

Oh, and I'm 21 now.

Last free weekend of undergrad. What did I do? Go to a library book sale and eat some spaghetti. Uh uh uh....thats it.

So, I guess it's almost final, I'm going to start graduate school at Arizona State University in the fall. Also, I think I'm going to move there at the beginning of the summer and work in the lab beforehand, to learn techniques and meet everyone before the year gets into full swing ( Read more... )

I just got back from Tempe. That much travelling in a short time sucks. The trip was good. The setup there is unbelievable; new building, new equipment, amazing faculty, good funding, interesting work.

Plus I talked to Bert Holldobler for a half hour, so that was pretty cool.

So, I got a call yesterday, which I missed, and one today that I did get inviting me to visit Tempe, Arizona for an interview at Arizona State. It's weird, I never thought I'd get a call this late. Plus, I never did take the GRE subject test they said was required....oh well, we'll just have to see how it works out ( Read more... )
