Your icon has made me wonder what Toph would think about her metalbending cops becoming Tarrlok's dogs... I figure she'd insult their cowardice/honor and then beat Tarrlok up.

My theory is that the man in the flashbacks is Yukone and that he's Tarrlok's father. I think the main reason he hates Korra is because she's not going along with what he wants; he seems like a man who wants everything his way. Although him hating Korra because she's the Avatar and his relative was beaten by Aang could be a part of it too.

Speculation is so much fun! And every new episode we get gives us more material for theorizing.

Hang on, who is Yukone? What did that whole vision hing mean? There was Sokka or some other water tribe man, and older Toph and Aang, and Aang looked like he was bloodbending maybe, or just making scary hands. And other waterbender (Tarrlok) being arrested? Oh so confusing.

I really loved the bits about contacting Aang and the other avatars, I wish we'd seen more if it! But yeah, as you said, this was an amazing episode! Grrrr Tarrlok I hate you so much. I totally agree, he is even more evil than Amon.

OR IS HE... Did you also get the crazy Amon-is-Tarrlok or someone really closely related to him vibe? The way the did the shadowy shots, the expression when Korra says he's worse than Amon... Oh I need a new episode right now!

Yukone was mentioned in "The Voice in the Night" by Tarrlok when he was justifying the creation of his task force against Amon. All we really know about him is that he threatened Republic City 42 years before this and that Aang beat him.

My current theory is that he's the waterbender in the visions and that he was bloodbending people. I also think he might be Tarrlok's father.

I think we'll see Korra getting in touch with her spiritual side in the next episode.

I don't think Tarrlok is Amon (for one, their eye colors are different), but I do think there's a personal connection between the two. Maybe they're brothers? I don't know. I totally agree with you about needing the new episode.

I adored this episode a lot and I agree about being drawn to the end. I definitely think Korra will contact Aang in the next episode.

Yeah, I got that the man was bloodbending all the people present in the flashback. Oh, I didn't think about a spirit controlling Tarrlok's body. That would be really interesting... It would also explain why he was able to bloodbend without a full moon. Of course he could just be a really powerful waterbender. I still think Amon and Tarrlok are different people, perhaps brothers. Although a spirit playing them as puppets would be interesting. Maybe the spirit is giving them power (Tarrlok the bloodbending prowess and Amon the ability to take away bending) to start a giant war though not possessing them.

It deffo picked up this episode. I love it! The bending was awesome.

I'm really glad I'm not the only one who thought that a lot of what was happening in Korra is actually really close to stuff going on atm, ie oppression of a few just because of a minority.

Who is Yukone? I don't seem to remember who that is. The blood bending was a shock to me as well - did not totally expect that.

I think the comparisons of Korra to what's going on in the real world are really fascinating. Glad to hear someone else noticed them too. The scene with the non-benders trying to get their power turned back on and the police arresting them made me think of police brutality. These are scary, horrifying things.
