[The first thing you hear when the video cuts on is the steady sound of footsteps...and if you're listening very closely (or have the volume turned up absurdly high), some annoyed grumbling. Unfortunately, the pokedex is being held in such a way that the camera isn't recording anything but the inside of a palm ( Read more... )

That crabthing is probably your Poekee.

You're in Johto, which is some weird alternate world. I dunno how we got here or anything, but we're kinda stuck here, so let's make the best of it? You get a Poekee when you get here, so that's probably the crabthing. You can use it to battle other Poekees and stuff.

Poe...kee?

[a sigh; so she's stuck...? stuck...?!] This is the most helpful answer I've gotten yet, but that kinda news is just depressing...

[She gives her a sheepish nod. It sucks when they get upset about it.] Yeah, it's not so bad here. And while there's no specific way to get home, sometimes people just disappear, and it's said that they go home.

But for now you can collect Poekees and battle them. I think of as kind of a vacation.

[The part that's so bad for Umi is that this is definitely NOT the first time this has happened to her. sob ;;] Now that's just as weird as being stuck here...people just disappearing at random.

[...] A vacation? From what, exactly...?

And the first thing you do is try to play fetch with your crab?

It's not fetch! It's a diversion!

Don't get rid of him, trust me! You're gonna want to keep him.

Whaaat? Why would I want to keep something weird like that?

You know Hikaru, too? Boy...it sounds like she's pretty popular around here! [not surprised by this. at all.]

When you're stuck here long enough, you start getting to know everybody. I've known her for a few months now.

[amusement] Well, it could always be worse. For one thing, it could be raining.

For another, it could be a rhino instead of a crab.

Even rain is better than finding out I'm totally stuck here!

[.......] D-don't tell me weirdo rhinos follow people around sometimes, too?!

Not really. [He chuckles at that.] They don't exactly follow -- they chase. And you can be surprised how quickly they can move when there's someone to chase.

Nature is a weird thing, isn't it?

There can't really be something that freaky here--! A rhino that chases people around...?! You're kidding me, right?!

You should try throwing something he can pinch instead of pick up.

Is there really that much of a difference...?

Well... He's a crab, so he should like the idea of splitting things in two more than carrying them back to you, right?

That's true... Maybe a rock? Or would a rock be too hard for it to pinch through? Jeez, who ever thought this kind of question would end up mattering at all...?!
