hey lovely- Metro is located inside the Keihan Marutamachi Station.

Any chance I could join y'all for part of Fri. night? I'll be going to a temple market on Saturday, but it would be nice to see you while you're in town! And I can show off my Tsubaki tattoo ;)

Tenjin dayo! I'm going with Jess, the Kobe CIR and you are welcome of course, if you're not too partied-out!

i'll be there! whoohOO! oh, AND one more thing. approximately how long does it take to get from kyoto station to marutamachi by either taxi or walking. it's a pretty straight shot, maybe 4 or 5 station stops, but i have no sense of distance. just trying to keep some things in mind for the 24th!

I'm curious how long each of these b/w drawings take you. An hour? Few hours?

more like a few hours... first i sketch in pencil, then ink. but i also usually do them in more than one sitting, or while watching a movie. that tends to add to the clock :(

oy yes, you know i'm very impressed by all these drawings (and that ain't a pick up line either, lol). Boys who can draw are incredibly sexy. I remember seeing one sitting alone at the Louvre in Paris in front of a giant statue drawing obliviously to the tourists around him. Very hot.

i'm also curious.... are you still a member of that community, gayasian?! they recently had a debate about rice queens and guys who simply join and intorduce themselves with the obligatory "i like asian boys" blah blah blah.

but, the one asian guy who wrote the huge (and somewhat antagonistic) entry brought up an interesting point about "exoticizing" the "oriental".... sometimes i worry that i'm doing that. i am NOT a rice queen by any means (though i've been know to dabble, tehehe). but i am still taking traditional images of a culture and giving them an erotic spin -- though not for my own sexual gratification, but rather because i think it's interesting. some of the drawings, especially the one titled "iki" (re: the lounging, half-naked kabuki actor) really straddles the line between haunting/thought-provoking image and shameless "hot xxx asian" pic.

what do you think? in all honesty.

Whoa, these are fantastic! And not just the art but the story behind each pic. You really do have talent.
