OK, so it's October now... the past month or so has proven pretty interesting. Here's the rundown:
-new job: At Brookhaven National Lab. UNIXy stuff. Going well, thusfar.
-new place: Just signed a lease with Bill on a multi-bedroom house in Centereach. Residents to include Bill, laughingmonk, darkdaemon and seductivebitch, and sterlingspider and myself. Despite all the snags, everything ( Read more... )

Re: PPS - As sterlingspider indicated, we'd like to feel out the neighborhood first. I can't imagine that the people in the house would have a problem (actually, I know pretty specifically that they wouldn't in most cases), but I want to make sure the neighbors won't do anything silly like call the cops. The house next door is up for sale, so that may cause issues at some point (unlikely, though).
Issues with neighbors aside, it's certainly large enough for a commons. Dunno how cramped a Winter Commons would be, since those are typically filled with indoor people who are very cold, but I have to get an idea of how the furniture lays out downstairs. Otherwise, I can't really foresee any issues with holding one there. I'd kinda like to, quite frankly, assuming that no issues crop up.
