Chaos? Or the collective frustration of Games Workshop fans everywhere...

Perhaps the Warp is spawned during the release of the Starcraft MMORPG in the alternate reality that 40k lives in, when the minds of all the Ultramarines players and Dark Eldar fanbois collapse in on themselves.

Nah. I'm just going to go with it being a good description of the surface depths of Chaos. 40K has nothing to worry about from Starcraft ripping it off. Starcraft started off as a really neat ripoff of 40K, and it'll stay a really neat ripoff of 40K :)
