There was a crocodile tree, a very rare kind, growing near the entrance to my house bloc. It was an old and big tree, and it shed shade all over the entrance, giving it a rather run-down, vintage look. They cut it down because supposedly there were bats in it. That kind of shit makes me crazy. Chopping down a tree because of bats? Were there not enough bugs flying around the neighborhood?

The one positive thing about bad economic times is that they can't afford to tear everything old down and replace it with something new.
