Hey honey!
A coworker passed on his "travel secret" to me... I've been watching TravelZoo.com for the last few months now, and they've got FANTASTIC deals on trips. I mean, some of them are MAJOR, major discounts. Most of them are for vacations planned for the next couple of months, but... that's sorta what you're looking for, so that works.
Check it out... you might be able to take a long weekend in another country or something!
Or, if you guys want to go domestic, I hear San Francisco is not to be missed in one's lifetime. Personally, I've always wanted to go to Seattle.
Woo, travel!

...and I missed the part where you said "relatively close".

Durf.

Honestly though, editing my statement slightly, the longest flight domestically (at least in the continental 48 states) is 6 hrs. That's not as long as all that. I've done that flight, gone somewhere for a couple days, then come back. It's only like 4 hours coming back, because of jetstream.

That all aside, my parents were raving about the Chesapeake Bay area (and the sailboats and such) recently, and that's only a couple hour drive away.

xoxo

Thanks!
I appreciate the help! I said relatively close 'cause of the 'recovery' time of the time difference in traveling cross country, but if it's cheap enough, what's a little jet lag, right?!
It's just one of those situations where I'm drained for ideas, yet need something fun to do and look forward to.
Thanks again!!!!!!

Funny you mention it ligerjen April 29 2008, 15:33:18 UTC
Mr. Liger and I were talking about places we'd be able to take day trips on fairly close by for travel fun with El Jefe.

Of course, you would have more freedom to stay a day or two unlike us. But have you considered the local shorepoints? NJ, MD, VA, that kind of thing?

It is that time of year for getting out and doing stuffs. Day trips around here are a good idea and will be even more fun for you 'cause now you get to see the world through El Jefe's eyes. Even if you've been to the same place a thousand times before, I'm sure it will take on a whole new life through his little eyes! Maybe we could all go do a day trip?! That would be fun!!

Thanks for the suggestion of VA and MD. I never think of those two states. VA in my mind is just where my sis-in-law and nieces live...no other reason to go to VA other than to see them, but that's just illogical, isn't it?

Anyhow....babbling...

Hopefully we'll all get together soon! Did you get the email from T about getting together with the newlyweds and Kelly to hang out/celebrate her bday?
Talk to you soon!
