There's a piece of HP trivia going around. I'm glad. Of course, it's not the "hey, we can have a successful long-term relationship" breakthrough I'm still waiting for because of what the Fried Green Tomatoes movie did to the characters, but heck, this is a lot better than I'd hoped for

I kind of ignored Dumbledore in the 3rd & 4th movies (and have yet to see the last) as I was so heartbroken over R.H. Perhaps I should watch one and concentrate more on Sir Ian?? I would like to win my fangirl credentials back somehow....

Michael Gambon. If Sir Ian McKellan had been Dumbledore, EVER, you'd actually see me fangirling over DD, which I never really do. I worship Sir Ian. DD for me is just a cool character. For me, this is far more a media-political thing than a fandom thing, because one of my major peeves is the lack of a well-rounded queer experience in a literature that exists in a world where such a thing is possible. The literature is far behind reality.

I think she got to the point where she had enough money that she felt safe making the gamble. That actually makes me feel good about having purchased 5 and 7 from the bookstores because it means I helped this happen, in some small amount. Sometimes one has to feel protected before doing what one really wants, and I'm ok with that.
