[She stops in the doorway, looking up at Lucifer for a moment. There's this look on her face that hasn't decided whether it's fury or not, and so she doesn't step in.]
Brother. [It's not quite a question, not exactly a statement. Something in between.]
Rhode. [He's not sure why she's calling him that instead of by his name, but he hugs her, sensing her confusion and what he hopes will be rage. Rage, between the two of them, is always the catalyst to better things.]
[Nope, not in the Chateau. Not in any of his usual haunts, either. Which means he's hoboing! At the lakeside, as a matter of fact. Wintertime or not, he's fishing, because one clearly cannot have too much fish in their diet. He's all wrapped up in a tattered old trench coat, casting a line.]
[She was approaching at full speed, but that one word stops her in her tracks. Not, hey love, or darling, or Rhode even. Just missy. The flash of hurt on her face is unmistakable for any other emotion. It's pain, and fear, and anger and confusion all jumbled up.]
[Aw, c'mon, don't look like that :( He continues to flash her a smile, although it looks slightly confused, clearly wondering why she looked so sad - even if it was for a moment.]
[But, as soon as she's within arm's reach of him, he shrugs off the trench coat, bringing him down to another tattered jacket underneath, and he makes to drape the coat over her shoulders.]
You're goin' to catch your death o' cold if you're not careful, yanno.
[Rather patiently -- because even though Tom has been gifted with a new perspective on life, he still remembers who Rhode is.
And while a smothered piece of Tom would rather like seeing Rhode flip her ever-loving shit and kill a lot of people, the newly crafted piece of Tom would rather avoid it.
He has reading to do. It would disturb his peace.]

ARE YOU READY FOR THIS, RHODE? Because Tom has a family this week. He's well-adjusted. He's had someone to tell him that he's great.
And, for the first time in Adstringendum, there is the tiniest flickering note of concern in his eyes, and it's completely and utterly real.]
You require Allen's presence... for what?

Because I require it. [That is that.]
