For real.
It's not that people reject you. Not at all. People need certain things, right? You want them, I want them. When you meet someone that has them and you have what they want, sparks and all, right? Rejection should never mean that you don't meet some standard. It's like shooting for a home run when you're playing football.
Meet people, enjoy their company, have fun. Don't put pressure on yourself and don't put pressure on them. You'll enjoy it a LOT more when you can just go out for coffee/see a movie/have dinner/whatever.
When you meet someone that is looking for you, you'll know. It's crazy how it works. In the meantime, just have some fucking fun. Enjoy a few dates, even if they don't work out. The way I always look at it, even if your date doesn't work out, you've got a good story to tell your friends, and even if not that, then you have good fic fodder.
Just have fun. Life is way too short to deal with pressure. hon.
