Today I paid for a subscription to Match.com for three months.  I'm sure some of your think this idea is lame, but screw you I did it anyway.  Really, meeting people in this area is not easy.  There are a lot of psychos...so I'm told.  But I believe them

I met my husband online. Through fanfiction.net of all places. Good luck on Match. There are a lot of weirdos out there, but tons of people who are a total blast, too. :)

Fanfiction? Haven't heard of that one. But my Aunt and Uncle met on American Singles 13 years ago and are married with two kids, so I have hope.

I actually met my girlfriend online and I'm the happiest I've ever been in my life. We had the same problem; it's hard to meet women if you're a woman in the religious south. So we tried it, found out that we're both kick-ass, and so far, things are fantastic. Yeah, there are weirdos out there, but like the lovely Starlight said, there are a ton who are a blast too. Just opt for public dates until you get to know the person, then go from there.
