Nice job, guys

I don't want to post in here too much about football, or any other sports either, but that was a truly great Carolina Panthers win yesterday.   A great game throughout, capped by a true-to-form Jake Delhomme last minute drive, and punctuated with an end-zone circus grab by a sure-handed receiver.  Maybe the Cardiac Cats are back.

Oh hell yes. I meant to post something about that myself. I didn't get to see the game but I was pleased to see they beat none other than San Diego, holdin' it down for Cack-a-lack.

I also took great pleasure in seeing the Colts get that ass whooped for the first game in their brand new stadium. I would have taken just as much pleasure if it had been in their old stadium, but the new stadium made it all the more special. Also the fact that it was the Chicago Bears that beat them was somewhat poetic, but I'm sure none of the Chicago players were even thinking about that big game in Miami a couple of years ago.

And how about those New York Farves?

You missed it? What a loser! It was a 4:00 game you know. Should have been awake by then. I'll trust that you'll make a better effort to see that one. Home opener against 'da Bearsss. That brings up another totally unrelated subject. I don't like to bust people for spelling too much, but why do so many losers spell loser, "looser"? That drives me crazy.

You know what football I like to watch most of all? High School Football. I have watched some really exciting games. We get season passes every year to our local High School. I try not to miss a game, because I am rarely disappointed... well, I am when we lose, but it still usually so fun to watch. You never know what is next.

The sadistic side of me comes out for high-school football. I don't care one bit about any high school football team, but I love to watch the good ones lose. Usually, those schools are in communities where the local football team defines them. Losing puts them in such an unnecessary deep, dark funk, and I really enjoy it. As for the kids, they get over it quick and move on to the next game. I believe way, way too much emphasis is put on sports in school. Maybe producing mediocre teams can tone that down a bit.
