It'll be hard to detect the demonic/unholy origin at this stage. It's like the Shirley Temple of demonic taint right now. So Rei doesn't have to be too grumpy.
I kind of really want Mako to be bitten and get that fever.
But ASIDE FROM THAT I do have a question. Killua is immune to poisons. Canonly, he's so confident in this that it doesn't matter what the poison might be, even a laxitive. He accepts drinks from enemies, allows himself to be stung by mutant scorpions, etc. etc. Would that apply at all to this situation, or is this something completely different?
Good question. I don't know what Killua's immune to exactly, but this is basically an incredibly watered down version of a demonic/magical deadly virus/poison.
So basically the poison is more magical in origin than organic. I'll let you make the ultimate call since I know nothing of Killua's canon or immunities.
Hunter x Hunter is pretty practical about this sort of thing. Magic isn't something that slides in the series. Everything has a trick to it, even nen. So I'd say if it's more magical in origin, he'd only be marginally protected from the effects if at all.
It's more of a case of exposure; his family exposes him to something until his body can endure it. So I suppose something completely new wouldn't qualify.
DGM is always waffling between HANDWAVEY MAGIC and GENETICS so. I'd say if he's affected it might be a cross between lesser symptoms and a shorter time-frame for the fever?
Like a mild fever for 6-12 hours or whatever you want to go with.

Anyway, I love this. At least one of my characters is totally getting bitten. Possibly two.
