I don't like his shoes. The house elf has permitted far too much dust and the candelabrum is unpolished. If the carpet is a hand-knotted Persian silk, it fits, though the shadows from the backlighting are unfortunate. The photog apparently didn't want to use more light to fill the shadows, but couldn't compensate for the backlighting as the shadows fall on the patterned rug and would have been a royal pain to brush out.
The chair is correct and the furnishings are fine. I don't have a problem with the table as it is clearly only one of many and not likely to be his finest piece.
How do you know those are muggle hounds? A wizard looks like a muggle apart from dress and as dogs go nekkie. . .
I agree with you -- you and the set designer clearly agree on the 'look of Lucius. This absolutely tracks with your imagery.
it's the candleabra that isn't working. well, if he has an old house, which he does, there will probably be a hodgepodge of furniture. seeing the candleabra on top of the little table shows that, for it is very roccoco while the table is.... victorian, i think. the rug is probably supposed to date from the same time as the candleabra, when people were crazy for anything eastern as well as plastered with gold. it's probably meant to be woven silk- those rugs feel WONDERFUL.
LOL the dogs look remarkably happy. somehow, i never saw lucius as a dog person. or a cat person. just not spending time with animals- but they are so often in one's home, you CAN have them, and simply ignore them if you wish.

I still take issue with the table, it belongs in his attic, let us see some of the better pieces.
